3 Rides Will Be Closed at Universal Orlando in August

There might be nothing worse than heading to a theme park on your family vacation and seeing that closure sign. It’s the worst!

While closures are unavoidable, it’s nice to have a heads-up of what’s coming. Here are all the closures for Universal Orlando in August 2026.

Universal Islands of Adventure

Jurassic Park River Adventure has been closed since January 2026 and is set to reopen on November 19th, 2026. While we’re bummed not to have one of our favorite dinosaur rides, you can check out Jurassic World VelociCoaster for more dino action.

Universal Studios Florida

Finnegan’s Bar & Grill has been closed since January 2026 and is set to reopen in winter 2026, so you’ll want to head somewhere else to eat!

Universal Orlando’s Horror Make-Up Show has been closed since May 2026 and is going through an entire update with “planned enhancements.” It’s set to reopen this winter, and we can’t wait to see all the updates.

For this ride, it will be your final chance to ride it EVER! Fast & Furious — Supercharged will permanently close on August 17th, with its final day of operation on August 16th. Don’t worry, Fast & Furious fans, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, a new roller coaster, is coming in 2027.
