JSO investigators are still working to learn the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A child is dead after an accidental shooting on Jacksonville’s Northside late Monday night, according to Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office investigators. 

Just after 10 p.m. Monday, JSO officers responded to the 1100 block of Bacall Road after calls of a person shot. When they arrived, officers found a boy with a gunshot wound, and paramedics took him to an area hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

Investigators are still working to learn what led to the shooting, but said it appears to be accidental.
