SEATTLE — American Airlines flights were grounded nationwide Tuesday evening after a technology issue impacted its systems, according to the airline.
The issue has since been resolved and flights are beginning to depart once again as of 5 p.m.
American Airlines released a statement at 4:21 p.m. on social media saying, “A technology issue briefly impacted connectivity for some of our systems on Tuesday evening. Systems are coming back online now and flights are departing again.”
The airline said a temporary ground stop was in place while the issue was worked on by their crews.
Airline passengers should check their local flight status if flying American Airlines Tuesday evening.
