FORT PIERCE – A 50-year-old Fort Pierce man was arrested on July 21 after investigators discovered illegal drugs and a firearm at his home following a fire, according to a St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office Facebook posting.
St. Lucie County Fire-District and St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of smoke and flames coming from a home in the 3400 block of Avenue I, Fort Pierce.
After extinguishing the fire, preventing the home from becoming a total loss, firefighters did a walk-through and discovered a large quantity of multi-colored pills and notified the sheriff’s office., according to the Facebook posting.
Detectives with the Special Investigations Division responded and found cocaine, MDMA, fentanyl, marijuana and a gun in the house, according to the Facebook posting.
Detectives executed a search warrant for the residence and seized:
• 270 grams of MDMA;
• 15 grams of powder cocaine;
• 2 grams of fentanyl;
• 711 grams of marijuana;
• One Smith and Wesson .38 revolver.
• Assorted narcotics paraphernalia used for packaging narcotics for sale/distribution.
Mario Antwon Bryant, 50, was arrested and charged with possession of fentanyl; possession of marijuana with intent to sell or deliver; trafficking in MDMA (amphetamine); possession of a firearm by a state convicted felon; and possession of cocaine.
He was taken to the St. Lucie County Jail where he remained as of July 24 on a $355,000 bond, according to the jail web site.
