TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Fire safety checks are underway at Florida State University’s new Academic Health Center as construction moves forward.
Tallahassee Fire Department fire inspectors recently conducted interior hydrostatic testing at the building. The testing is completed floor by floor to verify the sprinkler system can maintain the required pressure and operate as designed.
Four members of the Tallahassee Fire Department’s Prevention Division oversee new construction inspections in accordance with NFPA 1 and NFPA 101. The inspections are intended to ensure fire and life safety requirements are addressed throughout every stage of construction, from initial plans to final completion.
