JSO: Man shot, killed at Jacksonville apartment complex off Lem Turner Road

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the man was 26 years old.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was shot and killed at an apartment complex off Lem Turner Road early Thursday. 

JSO Sgt. Latasha Thompson said just before 3 a.m., officers responded to The Place at Capper Landing, located at 10535 Lem Turner Rd., after receiving a report of a man who had been shot.

When officers arrived, Thompson said they found a 26-year-old man outside with at least one gunshot wound. Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced him dead.

JSO said multiple people were detained.

“It’s still early in the investigation,” Thompson said. “We’re still gathering information, as well as evidence. At this time, there is no threat to the community, and it appears that this incident is isolated.”
