It’s been over a year since Universal’s Epic Universe debuted, and over that time, many of the park’s attractions have become wildly popular…and remained wildly busy.
Look at the detail!
Wait times for popular attractions like Mine-Cart Madness, Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, and Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry are often over an hour, with the park’s other heavy hitters not lagging too far behind. However, there may be a way to circumvent these long waits on some attractions: Single Rider lines.
Single Rider lines are exactly what the name implies: A separate queue for solo riders — or groups who don’t mind being split up — from which Universal Team Members will take riders from these lines to fill out a ride vehicle.

While Single Rider queues can make a wait shorter, there are some drawbacks. For starters, they’re not always quicker than normal queues thanks to operational reasons and ride capacity. Beyond that, for attractions with intricately themed queues that form a core part of the attraction’s story, guests who jump in the Single Rider queue will end up missing a large chunk of the experience and could leave the ride feeling confused as a result.

However, neither of those issues is a problem for Stardust Racers. Located in Epic Universe’s Celestial Park, Stardust Racers has had the most tumultuous year of any Epic Universe attractions, with a series of incidents, including the unfortunate death of a guest, leaving the coaster mired in controversy and requiring significant downtime. However, the dual-track coaster has remained popular with guests, averaging waits in the 30- to 45-minute range.

Stardust Racers does offer a Single Rider line, and it doesn’t run into either of the issues mentioned above. It tends to move quicker than the standard queue, and arguably more importantly, guests are missing NOTHING by using it. No heavily themed queue, deeply developed story, or necessary-to-know plot details are missed by skipping the standard line.
