Moisture is building inside of a surface boundary that stalled near north Florida.
On Friday, Leesburg, Daytona Beach, Orlando, Melbourne and Port St. Lucie all have a 70 percent chance for rain, according to NWS Melbourne.
There is a marginal risk for excessive rainfall across most of east Central Florida on Friday and Saturday.
Rain chances are expected to be elevated throughout the weekend, increasing to 80 percent.
Temperatures are expected to cool down with skies being partly sunny and highs near 90 degrees.
Winds are blowing west-southwest at 10 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph, according to NWS Melbourne.
There is a moderate risk of rip currents at all area beaches.
