A luau-themed fundraiser is planned for Aug. 29 at The Hideaway Waterfront Resort & Hotel in Cape Coral.
The event, PRIDE in Paradise, will run from noon to 6 p.m. at 4601 SE Fifth Ave., said a news release.
$30 tickets include door prize
Tickets are $30 and include admission and a special door prize.
The fundraiser will feature two experiences. A pool party will take place at the front of the resort, while a luau party with music, live entertainment, games and prizes will be held on the waterfront.
DJ Kooshie will provide entertainment throughout the event.
Highlights include cornhole tournament
The event will also include a cornhole tournament. Entry is $20 per player, with the winner taking home 50% of the pot and the remaining 50% benefiting PRIDE Cape Coral. There will also be raffles, giveaways and prizes donated by local businesses.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase during the event, according to the announcement. A limited number of boat slips are available for guests arriving by boat or jet ski, and reservations are required.
Cape Coral’s 6th Annual PRIDE Celebration parade took place on Saturday, March 2, 2024. The two-day celebration, hosted by PRIDE Cape Coral, takes place along SE 47th Terrace in the downtown area, between SE 9th Place & SE 11th Place.
Overnight accommodations are available at The Hideaway, with rooms offered to sponsors first and any remaining availability released to the public.

Local nonprofit Pride-SWFL started the festival in 2009 and has held it for years at Fort Myers’ Alliance for the Arts. The LGBTQ organization eventually decided to move the festival to downtown.
