Port St. Lucie police are investigating after a body was discovered on Interstate 95.Previous coverage: Body of a 23-year-old woman found on I-95According to Port St. Lucie police, a 23-year-old woman appeared to voluntarily jump from a moving vehicle at the time of the incident. Police identified the victim as 23-year-old Taylor Joan Robert. They say this incident happened early Saturday morning on Nov. 1 as she was coming back from a Halloween celebration.The Florida Highway Patrol and Port St. Lucie police witnessed the woman’s body near I-95 and Gatlin Boulevard.Investigators said Taylor Robert’s boyfriend was driving the truck, and she was on the phone with a friend saying that she was “Going to jump from the pickup truck,” and then the phone went dead. Sgt. Dominick Mesiti confirmed that information from the friend and said, “Part of our investigation on scene, we did discover that she was on the phone with a friend of hers. We were able to recover the victim’s phone from the scene and reach out to that friend to confirm the conversation.”When Taylor’s best friend Perri Donovan heard Taylor willing jumped out of the car, she knew something was up.”She’d never jump to commit suicide, she wasn’t suicidal, she wasn’t mentally struggling. If Taylor jumped out of that car ,it was because her life was in jeopardy inside of that car,” Donovan said. Taylor worked at Crabby’s in Downtown Fort Pierce, her boss, general manager Jack Gilbert, says the last time he saw her was last Wednesday. “I labeled Taylor as our little firecracker; she just had so much energy.” Gilbert not only describes Taylor as a firecracker but as a team player who will be missed.”She was a great employee. She was always here early and stayed late if we needed her to. She was just a good girl all around. The restaurant just does not feel the same without. It’s been very somber for the last couple of days,” Gilbert said.Police say the death was not caused by a traffic-related incident, and there were no signs of foul play. Detectives are awaiting autopsy and toxicology reports.
