Authorities say the victim came back to the hotel from a casino when he was “robbed at gunpoint” in the parking lot.
TAMPA, Fla. — Three people have been arrested in connection to an armed robbery outside of an Extended Stay America in Tampa.
During the early morning hours of July 23, deputies say the victim of the robbery met one of the suspects, Angelina Johnson, 20, at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino.
After leaving the casino, the victim came back to his hotel on East Sligh Avenue, where deputies say Johnson and two other suspects, Mario Dejournett, 22, and Tyrik Griffin, 22, approached him in the parking lot.

Dejournett and Griffin reportedly displayed firearms and then stole the victim’s jewelry and wallet before leaving the scene along with Johnson.
All three suspects have been charged with robbery with a firearm ($750 or More But Less Than $20,000), according to Hillsborough deputies.
“This was a coordinated, violent crime that left the victim shaken and robbed at gunpoint,” Sheriff Chad Chronister wrote in a statement. “Thanks to the diligent work of our detectives and the assistance of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, all three suspects have been identified and taken into custody. We remain committed to holding violent offenders accountable and ensuring they face justice.”
An investigation is ongoing.
