OKLAHOMA CITY –
A former Oklahoma pediatrician charged in the death of her child is requesting additional protection while being held in custody in Florida.
Court documents say Neha Gupta was charged with second-degree murder and aggravated manslaughter after prosecutors say she killed her 4-year-old daughter before staging the death to appear as a drowning.

Aggravated manslaughter is not a charge used in Oklahoma, but in Florida, it can be applied when someone is believed to have caused the death of a person under the age of 18.
New court filings show Gupta claims she was assaulted by another inmate while imprisoned at a facility in Florida, with the other inmate also threatening to kill Gupta.
Gupta is now asking to be separated from the other inmate while she awaits trial. Court records show Gupta is due back in court in September.
