Work has been progressing quickly at Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, and Pocahontas murals in the guest rooms can now be seen. The resort will open in the summer of 2027.
Pocahontas Murals
In addition to curtains and furniture, murals themed to Pocahontas can now be seen in the guest rooms. We were able to spot them easily at nighttime thanks to the lights that were turned on during our visit.
The mural shows a mountainous scene with an orange-ish sky behind it. We are unsure if these are complete or if more art needs to be added to them. A thin strip of lighting is placed above each mural.
Disney describes the resort’s design as:
Inspired by Walt Disney’s lifelong admiration for the great outdoors, the resort’s design will pay tribute to decades of animated stories rooted in nature, with subtle nods to classic films — from the lush forests of Bambi and the colorful winds of Pocahontas to the sweeping glacial landscapes of Brother Bear.
The new resort will be a waterfront retreat where guests will “discover the wonder of nature through the artistry of Disney storytelling.”
