TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Grove Museum hosted its second annual back-to-school field day, bringing families together for games, activities and school supplies ahead of the new school year.
Organizers said the event was designed to give families a chance to enjoy another day of summer fun while helping them prepare for school.
Erin Kelly, a parent who attended the event, said her children were excited to have one final summer activity before returning to school.
“They were excited to come play some games,” Kelly said. “They’ve had some summer activities that have all ended this past week, so they are excited about one final bash and maybe a week of downtime before we have to get ramped up for school again.”

The children also enjoyed the event.
“It’s been fun, really fun,” they said.
Last year, organizers gave away school supplies to 250 families and hoped to make a similar impact this year.
The Pilot Club of Tallahassee was also on site, giving away free helmets and teaching children about the importance of bike safety.
