NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Aug. 1, 2026) – Orlando City B (8-5-7, 35 points) fell 4-2 to CT United FC (10-8-2, 34 points) on Saturday night in the first-ever meeting between the two clubs.
The Lions opened the scoring in the 31st minute off a set piece, as Matthew Belgodere lofted a cross to the back post for a diving Landon Okonski, who headed home the opening goal of the match. The score marked Okonski’s first professional goal and Belgodere’s second assist of the season.
CT United responded with an equalizer from Andre Applewhaite in the 36th minute before Barnabas Tanyi struck two minutes later to give the hosts a 2-1 lead heading into halftime.
The hosts added to their advantage in the second half, with Dylan Lacy finding the back of the net in the 53rd minute before Daniel D’Ippolito scored in the 61st to extend CT United’s lead.
Orlando City Academy forward Matthew Belgodere pulled a goal back for the Lions in the third minute of second-half stoppage time, taking a short corner near the top of the box before powering an outside-of-the-foot finish into the lower right corner for his fourth goal of the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season.
Orlando City B will continue its four-match road trip on Tuesday, Aug. 11, traveling to Queens, N.Y., to take on NYCFC II at Belson Stadium (7 p.m. ET | OneFootball).
