Over 1,000 UNF students graduate during summer semester

Over 1,000 students graduated at the school’s Summer 2026 Commencement on Friday, July 31, during ceremonies at 9 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

1,092 graduates, ages 20 to 65, will join the 119,693 current members of the Ospreys alum nation, according to a UNF press release.

A look at the numbers

In total, 75 different combinations of degrees were awarded, according to the press release. Of the graduates, 35% are the first generation in their families to attend college and 166 are connected to the military.

Last year, 1,016 students graduated from UNF during the summer semester, with 34% of graduates being the first in their families to earn a college degree and 80 students being affiliated with the military.

Since opening in 1972, UNF has issued 103,773 bachelor’s degrees, 25,528 master’s degrees and 1,832 doctoral degrees, according to the press release.

Careers after graduation

Some graduates are moving directly into careers after graduation, according to the press release.

Graduates from the Brooks College of Health are beginning careers at multiple healthcare organizations, including Wolfson Children’s Hospital, Brooks Rehabilitation, Mayo Clinic and the Florida Department of Health.

Graduates from the College of Arts and Sciences are also entering the workforce, beginning careers at KLS Martins, the U.S. Department of Defense, the Florida Army National Guard, Reyes Legal, the City of St. Augustine, the Jacksonville Public Library, and PNC Bank.

Coggins College of Business graduates are moving into careers at Fidelity Investments, Johnson & Johnson, Magellan Transport Logistics, PLS Logistics, The Stellar Group, VyStar Credit Union, Miller Electric, Mercedes-Benz and Bank of America.

Graduates from the Silverfield College of Education and Human Services are beginning careers with the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, the North Florida School of Special Education and schools in Miami-Dade County, Clay County, Duval County and St. Johns County.

Finally, the College of Computing, Engineering & Construction has graduates moving into careers at The Haskell Company, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, England-Thims & Miller, RF-Smart and EverBank.
