BALTIMORE (WBFF) — The players arrived in North Carolina representing different high schools, neighborhoods and teams from across the Baltimore area.

By the time they left Sunday, they were Mid-Atlantic champions.

The Baltimore Orioles RBI 18U regional team defeated the Carolinas Metro Reds, 19-8, in the championship game to earn a place in the Nike RBI World Series. The national tournament begins Monday at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Florida, with the championship game scheduled for Thursday.

The Orioles-supported roster brings together players from high schools across Baltimore City and Baltimore County. For coach Anthony Ross, the regional title came from fitting those players together into a cohesive team.
