LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. (WHKY) The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has charged two Florida men following an investigation into fraudulent financial transactions that targeted two local construction businesses.
In May 2026, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received reports that two local construction companies had been victims of unauthorized transactions totaling approximately $9,000. Investigators determined the funds had been transferred to an Apple Pay Cash account.
During the investigation, detectives identified the owner of the Apple Pay account as Javon Jackson Herisse of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Based on the evidence gathered, investigators obtained a warrant charging Herisse with one felony count of obtaining property by false pretenses.
On June 29, 2026, with assistance from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, Herisse was taken into custody on the Lincoln County warrant before being transported back to Lincoln County.
As the investigation continued, detectives worked alongside numerous law enforcement partners, including the Anderson County (South Carolina) Sheriff’s Office Financial Crimes Unit and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Through intelligence gathered during the investigation, authorities identified a second suspect, David Shawn Olivert (no photo available), also of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as allegedly being involved in the account takeover scheme.
Olivert has been charged with one felony count of obtaining property by false pretenses, one felony count of accessing computers, and one felony count of identity theft. He is currently being held at the Broward County Sheriff’s Office detention facility while awaiting extradition to South Carolina on similar charges. Upon the completion of those proceedings, Olivert will be transported to Lincoln County to face the pending felony charges.
