An Epic Universe guest filed a negligence lawsuit against Universal after he allegedly suffered serious injuries from a slip-and-fall accident in the park.
Epic Universe Lawsuit
On November 14, 2025, New Jersey resident Juan Bautista Tenjo was visiting Epic Universe. While walking through a photo op area that also served as an attraction queue, he slipped on a substantial accumulation of water, which was pooling from stanchion inserts.
Tenjo claims he suffered bodily injury, pain and suffering, disability, mental anguish, medical expenses, lost earnings, and other permanent or continuing damages. A video provided to WDWNT by Tenjo’s attorneys show Tenjo being removed from Super Nintendo World by emergency services on a stretcher.

The complaint alleges Universal failed to adequately inspect, maintain, repair, or warn guests about the water hazard.
Padron & Lopez-Trigo, P.A. filed the lawsuit against Universal City Development Partners, Ltd. in Orange County Circuit Court on behalf of Tenjo.
They seek damages exceeding $50,000.
