A strong cold front will come through late Sunday and into Monday morning, bringing well below normal temperatures.

A few showers will be possible late Sunday ahead of a cold front. Showers will clear the area by mid-morning on Monday, then winds will pick up out of the northwest.

Winds could gust over 30 mph at times during the day on Monday, with gusts of 20 to 30 mph Monday night and into Tuesday.

The chilly north to northwest wind will keep highs in the 60s on Monday.

1. Tampa, Orlando, Miami among airports cutting flights during shutdown
Tampa International Airport has been added to the list, along with airports in Orlando and Miami, of 40 of the busiest airports across the nation to reduce pressure on air traffic controllers.

2. Tampa, St. Pete OK funding for new ‘Tampa Bay Ferry’
Both the city of St. Pete and the city of Tampa voted today on their part of an agreement that would secure a new cross bay ferry service, with each city giving its approval.

3. SNAP recipients to receive 65% of food assistance, but payments may be delayed for weeks, California AG says
The federal government said that recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, will receive 65% of their typical assistance in November — and not 50% as the U.S. Department of Agriculture originally projected. 

4. Bay area businesses experience increase in small wedding requests

PLANT CITY TRAFFIC ALERT | This week, SR 39 traffic will shift west and be reduced to one lane each way between Sparkman Road and Kilgore Road through the Trapnell Road intersection in Plant City. Over the coming months, drivers may experience traffic delays and congestion on SR 39 as crews build the new northbound concrete roadway. Travel lanes through the intersection (eastbound/westbound Trapnell Road) will remain open to traffic during this phase of construction, along with maintaining driveway and emergency vehicle access.
