August 8, 2026 – Pinellas County Mosquito Control has “seen increased transmission of mosquito-borne viruses in the county and surrounding Tampa Bay area and is urging residents to protect themselves and their loved ones,” according to a prepared statement released Friday. Organization representatives wrote that the best way to prevent mosquito bites is by following the 3Ds: dress, defend and dump.
