The University of South Florida and the American Heart Association (AHA) share a long-standing
partnership centered on advancing heart health through research, meaningful collaboration,
and community impact.
USF’s deep involvement in the Tampa Bay Heart Walk—from student-led teams to university
leadership—demonstrates its commitment to raising critical funds and shaping the event’s
regional impact through active engagement and leadership participation.
This year, we’re setting the goal to form 30 teams and have 300 walkers from USF in support of the American Heart Association’s mission to save lives through
heart health education, CPR training, and groundbreaking cardiovascular research.
We’re calling on students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends to come together and
show the strength of Team USF. By supporting this initiative, you will help save lives
and give people more time to create cherished memories with their loved ones.

Here’s how YOU can get involved:
The Heart Walk is a non-competitive, family-friendly 5K event that brings together
more than 20,000 participants from across Tampa Bay. Attendees will enjoy a morning
filled with music, wellness activities, team celebrations, and opportunities to honor
those impacted by heart disease and stroke.
Whether you’re walking in memory of a loved one, advocating for better health, or
supporting life-saving science, there’s a place for you on Team USF. Let’s walk together—and
make a lasting impact.
Register Online
Register on the USF Heart Walk page as a coach (create a team) or a walker (join a team)! Even if you’re not walking,
you can join a USF team and invite classmates, coworkers, friends, and family to join
us (FREE to register).
Fundraise
Raising funds is a powerful way to support research, education, and advocacy efforts
to advance heart health for all. When you sign up for a USF team, you can choose a donation goal and invite others to donate to your page.
Volunteer
Help make the event a success by donating your time before, during, and after the
walk.
Spread the Word
Use your voice on social media or around campus/work to promote the event and heart-healthy
living.
Become a Lifesaver
9 out of 10 individuals who suffer an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest will die, largely
in part due to bystander CPR being performed less than half of the time.
All walkers who register for the Tampa Bay Heart Walk have the opportunity to become a LIFESAVER by gaining
access to videos, resources, and tools to learn the life-saving skill of Hands-Only
CPR.
