A driver who was driving the wrong way on State Road 869, crashed into a guardrail and became combative with law enforcement, was arrested on Saturday, authorities said,
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the wrong-way crash happened on State Road 869 near Coral Ridge Drive.
Troopers said the driver struck a guardrail, which caused his vehicle to become disabled.
Deputies from the Broward Sheriff’s Office and officers with Coral Springs Police then arrived at the scene, and the driver became physically combative.
The driver, identified as 43-year-old Everton Michael Cytall, was arrested and taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation.
After he is released from the hospital, Cytall will be taken to the Broward County jail.
He is being charged with resisting an officer with violence, operating a motor vehicle without a license and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
