PALM CITY, Fla. (CBS12 ) — Martin County sheriff’s deputies were responding Monday to an apparent animal hoarding case involving multiple border collies at a home in Palm City.
According to a preliminary message shared with local responders, authorities were serving a search warrant at a residence on Alligator Street and attempting to remove dogs from the property. The message described the situation as a serious animal hoarding case and said teams were going into the home to get the animals out.
The number of dogs involved, their conditions, and whether anyone had been arrested or charged were not immediately clear.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office was handling the response. Additional details were expected as investigators assessed the scene and the animals were removed.
This case comes weeks after a U.S. Postal Service carrier was arrested after more than 100 dogs and cats were found in her Palm City home.
