The Beths are not from Australia. The New Zealand indie-rock band, however, is in America and headed for Florida this fall.
The Kiwi quartet is a bonafide band of sweethearts famous for a bouncy, joyous, album-accurate live show that touches every part of its now four-LP discography going back to 2018.
Touring behind last year’s Straight Line Was a Lie, The Beths have three Florida shows in October, including one in Tampa.
The band’s last appearance in the Bay area—a June 2023 show at the show-shuttered Crowbar—found bassist Benjamin Sinclair applauding the city’s infrastructure, specifically, the rail. “Light rail, heavy rail, the infrastructure, it’s all very nice,” he said. Sadly, Tampa has not added any notable public transport options since then.
A social media post from @thebeths says the band will actually “play your favourite Beths songs by spontaneous request!” at the gig.
