Former New England Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown was arrested and is facing attempted murder charges in relation to a May shooting in Miami, Florida, the city’s police department confirmed. Miami police said officers found evidence of a fight that occurred in the city the morning of May 17. No arrests were made and no injured victims were reported following an investigation. After a thorough investigation, Miami police said Brown was identified as the gunman in a shooting that occurred during the fight.A warrant for his arrest on attempted murder charges was filed and Brown was apprehended while in Dubai. He was later extradited to Essex County, New Jersey, by U.S. Marshals, where he is being held until his extradition to Miami-Dade County Jail. In June, social media videos showed Brown in handcuffs, but he was not arrested at that time. Brown claimed he was attacked by people attempting to take his jewelry.”I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me,” he wrote on his X account at the time. “Contrary to some video circulating, Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED. I will be talking to my legal council(sic) and attorneys on pressing charges on the individuals that jumped me.”Brown, a 7-time Pro Bowler, spent much of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers before playing one game for the New England Patriots and spending two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
