PORT ST. LUCIE – Three arrests were made Nov. 4 in the case of a shooting that occurred outside Harper’s Pub in the Morningside Shoppes at 1700 SE Port St. Lucie Boulevard, according to Port St. Lucie Police reports.

Police responded to reports of a disturbance that included shooting activity outside Harper’s Pub on Nov. 4 at about 2:48 a.m.

Investigators learned that Peter Alexander Riera, 44, of Port St. Lucie fired four shots from a Glock 30, a .45-caliber handgun, at two men and one woman as they ran through the parking lot. None of the intended victims were injured, police say.

The three intended victims knew each other and had just met Riera that night, according to police reports. All were drinking together inside the pub and were intoxicated to varying degrees, according to police reports.

Once outside the pub, Riera apparently became agitated as he accused the intended victims of trying to “con” him, which escalated the disturbance, resulting in Riera firing his gun, according to police reports.

Riera was charged with three counts of attempted aggravated battery with a deadly weapon; two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; four counts of discharging a firearm in public; and one count of use of a firearm while under the influence.

During the investigation, Brandon Michael Pace, 24 of Port St. Lucie, was arrested after he obstructed officers during the investigation and kicked two officers while being detained, according to police reports. Pace was charged with one count of resisting an officer with violence and two counts of battery on an officer.

Kayla Marie Damiani, 26, of Port St. Lucie was also arrested by officers for one count of resisting an officer without violence as she obstructed officers during their investigation while they tried to detain Pace. Damiani ran toward Pace and officers after being lawfully ordered to stay back, police said.

The handgun fired during the incident, along with four shell casings, was recovered at the scene.

Riera is currently housed at the St. Lucie County Jail with no bond, per jail records.

As of Nov. 5, Pace is currently housed at the St. Lucie County Jail on $30,000 bond, per jail records.

Damiani was released the same day from the St. Lucie County Jail on a $500 bond, per jail records.
