The renowned culinary nonprofit James Beard Foundation has announced the return of its Taste America series in Miami, promising an intimate evening of food, talent and community this fall.

Scheduled for October 28th, the exclusive event will take over the Wynwood Event Center and feature a collaborative multi-course meal by some of the city’s most exciting chefs. While the James Beard Awards are like the “Oscars of the food world” held once a year, this dinner pop-up is part of a nationwide series spanning 20 different cities.

A night celebrating Miami’s culinary scene

Presented by American Express and Resy, the dining experience will offer a bespoke four-course joint menu accompanied by thoughtfully selected wine pairings. Diners will have the chance to explore a unique culinary expression by three acclaimed chefs blending Japanese and Caribbean smokehouse influences with Latin flavors and modern techniques.

Leading the evening are notable TasteTwenty chefs Raheem Sealy and Monika Dominguez of Shiso Miami, recently named to the Foundation’s annual “ones to watch” list. They’ll team up with Sebastian Vargas of Grassfed Culture Hospitality, the force behind Los Félix, Krüs Kitchen and Füm.

“It’s a rare opportunity to meet the artists behind the plate, enjoy incredible food and conversation and support the Foundation’s mission to champion independent restaurants at a time when that support is needed more than ever,” James Beard Foundation CEO Clare Reichenbach said in a statement.
