A dispute in Lauderhill on Friday turned deadly, and the man who allegedly fired shots was arrested, but has not been charged with the killing, police said.
According to Lauderhill Police, officers arrived at the 1500 block of 33rd Avenue after receiving reports of a shooting.
At the scene, officers found a man who was suffering gunshots wound, and he was taken to the Broward Health Medical Center, where he died.
The man was identified as 23-year-old Steve Joseph.

Chopper6 flew over the scene near Northwest 15th Street and Northwest 33rd Avenue.
During their investigation, officers learned that there was a dispute involving multiple people, which resulted in Joseph being shot.
Police identified 22-year-old Roderick Daniel Thomas Jr. as the person who fired the gun.
After the shooting, Thomas came to speak with investigators, and he was arrested for violation of probation for possession of a firearm.
Police have not charged Thomas with Joseph’s death, and detectives are determining if the use of deadly force was legally justified.
Witnesses told NBC6 that a group came to the home to confront the father of a child, and one of the men who arrived was shot and killed.
Family of the child’s father said threats were made the night before.
“She, I’m gonna kill him. She’s gonna see him die. She’s gonna watch him die,” Shirley Gibson said.
Witnesses said the woman then returned Friday with her boyfriend and other men to confront the child’s father.
They said Joseph was shot during that confrontation.
And while police were investigating, another man approached asking, “Where’s my brother?”
Witnesses said he appeared to have a gun in his pocket. Officers detained him and took the weapon.
The case will eventually go to the Broward State Attorney’s Office for review.
An investigation into the shooting remains active.
