JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Thirty students in Jacksonville are receiving help with education costs thanks to a funding program.
The SECU Foundation has announced that thirty students will receive its SECU Bridge to Career scholarship. Each student will get $500 toward their education at Coastal Carolina Community College in Jacksonville.
The program is offered through a foundation funded by members of the State Employees’ Credit Union. This scholarship has been offered since 2018 and focuses on developing workforce skills.
“Our collaborative effort with state educators across the state is a wonderful example of how we are working together to help students achieve their educational goals and create a better future for themselves, their families, and our communities,” said SECU Foundation Executive Director Jama Campbell. “On behalf of SECU Foundation and SECU members, we offer our congratulations to these recipients.”
The foundation says it has funded $6.3 million in education through the program.
