TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Leon High School student was arrested Thursday on battery charges after shoving a teacher, according to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office.
LCSO says the incident began when the 17-year-old student tried to start a fight with a fellow student.
The teacher told the student to leave the classroom numerous times until they left, according to the sheriff’s office.
“The student then returned to the same classroom, attempting to reenter while yelling at other students. The teacher again told the student to leave, and the student became upset and shoved the teacher to the ground,” according to an LCSO press release.
The 17-year-old is charged with battery on a school official and was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center, per the sheriff’s office.
