The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says that the three are facing a felony charge.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday evening that three arrests have been made in relation to a vehicle crash into a furniture store on Dunn Ave.
On Sunday, Oct. 12, JSO says that officers responded to Furniture Mattress Depot after a vehicle had seemingly crashed into the store and caught fire. Through further investigation, JSO says that the car was stolen.
According to JSO, surveillance video from the store revealed three individuals running away from the car.
JSO says that on Monday night, officers saw three individuals, matching those caught in the surveillance video, running away from a house after hearing “what they believed to be a gunshot. Upon interviewing them, JSO says that officers identified them as the alleged suspects and arrested them.
Bernard McClendon, 18, and the two others, a 14-year-old and a 12-year-old, each face a felony charge.
JSO released the following statement:
“We’ve shared this before, but we’ll say it again. Parents and family members, please get involved in your children’s lives. This group made a choice, and that choice led to the destruction of a family’s business. Now, this trio will face the consequences of their actions.”
