Catholic Health Services, the healthcare ministry of the Archdiocese of Miami, is celebrating the nomination of five of its premier care organizations across Miami-Dade County for the prestigious 2026 Miami Favorites Awards. The annual awards recognize outstanding local organizations that demonstrate exceptional service, quality, and dedication to the South Florida community.
The nominated Catholic Health Services organizations and their respective categories include:

About the Nominated Organizations
Catholic Hospice provides individualized care for patients facing life-limiting illnesses. Its approach prioritizes comfort, dignity, and quality of life. Patients are empowered to make choices about their care, whether delivered at home, in assisted living, or at Catholic Hospice inpatient centers in Broward and Miami-Dade. An interdisciplinary team wraps patients and their families in specialized support to seamlessly coordinate pain and symptom management, nursing, social work, therapies, spiritual care, and volunteer assistance. The care extends to the entire family with faith-driven bereavement services to guide patients’ loved ones through grief and loss.
St. Catherine’s West Rehabilitation Hospital in Hialeah Gardens, a Catholic Health Services facility, provides intensive medical rehabilitation for patients recovering from stroke, surgery, serious injury, and complex medical conditions. The 40-bed hospital is one of only three Joint Commission-certified stroke rehabilitation programs in Miami-Dade County and offers the area’s only aquatic therapy program. Inpatient and outpatient services are provided by an interdisciplinary team of highly trained physicians, registered nurses, and therapists dedicated to delivering exceptional care and helping patients recover as quickly and safely as possible so they can return to the life they love. Patients and their families are offered pastoral care and spiritual support, with Mass celebrated daily at the hospital.
Villa Maria Nursing Center, a North Miami landmark for nearly 60 years, offers short- and long-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing, respite care in a compassionate, faith-inspired setting. The center offers physician-directed orthopedic, cardiac and stroke recovery programs, physical, occupational and speech therapy, on-site dialysis, and an aquatic program. Personalized care, daily activities, pastoral support help patients and residents pursue greater independence, comfort, dignity and the highest quality of life. Mass offered daily. Welcoming people of all faiths.
St. Anne’s Assisted Living Residence in South Miami offers a supportive, faith-inspired community for older adults who value independence with help close at hand. Accommodations provide privacy, comfort and emergency call systems. Residents receive assistance with medication, bathing, dressing and appointments, along with restaurant-style dining, housekeeping, laundry, activities, transportation, respite care, and pastoral care, including daily Mass. Its South Campus location provides convenient access to St. Anne’s Nursing Center and outpatient services as care needs evolve.
Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery. The Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Miami provide burial, cremation, memorialization and bereavement services rooted in Catholic faith and tradition. Counselors guide families through loss or advance planning, helping them create a remembrance consistent with Church teachings. Our Lady of Mercy in Doral serves Miami-Dade and southwest Broward families, while Our Lady Queen of Heaven in North Lauderdale serves Broward and northeast Miami-Dade. Both offer grounds for prayer, remembrance and hope in the Resurrection.
