JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — A Jacksonville man is facing several gambling-related charges after an investigation by North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement.

Court records show 36-year-old Yazid Abdo Saleh Esmail was arrested on August 13 and charged with gambling, operating or possessing a slot machine, manufacturing or selling a slot machine, and operating a video gaming machine.

The alleged offenses occurred Aug. 5, according to the records.

Charging documents accuse Esmail of operating or possessing machines where players could potentially receive money, credit or something else of value.

Esmail was later released after posting bond.
