Major heat risk shaping up for South Florida with near-record heat on Sunday.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — We’ll see dry and warm conditions tonight with temps staying in the 80s for most areas through midnight.

Dangerous heat remains the biggest weather concern across the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast Sunday and will continue through the workweek too.

Heat advisories will likely be issued again for Sunday with temps expected to peak in the mid 90s.

With dewpoints in the upper 70s – Peak heat indices are forecast as high as 112 degrees multiple days this week.

A plume of Saharan dust is expected to spread across the Florida Peninsula Sunday, bringing considerably drier air into the atmosphere.

That should suppress most shower and thunderstorm development, with rain chances falling to around 10% or less across much of the area.

But fewer thunderstorms also mean less afternoon relief from the heat.

Remember to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activities during peak heating hours, and take frequent breaks in the shade or A.C.

A little more moisture works in for the second half of the workweek with 20%-30% storm coverage.
