Construction of a new boundary wall along the Sassagoula River at Walt Disney World has moved closer to Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts. This work began in mid March.

In April, the first new pieces of the wall were installed along the river where it nears Disney Springs. Now work is underway between Port Orleans Resort – Riverside and French Quarter. The old wall is being torn away as new pieces are installed.
New metal pieces run from under the bridge between the two resorts into Riverside. The yellow barriers in the water help catch debris.
Two construction vehicles further along the river are being used to excavate the land and remove the old wall.
The entire wall replacement project will take a few years.
Boat service was temporarily suspended last month due to construction but has resumed.
Sassagoula River runs connects Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Port Orleans Resorts, Old Key West Resort, and Disney Springs.
