Election Day voting hours and ID requirements

Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Aug. 18. Voters can find their voting location on their Voter Information Card or by visiting LeonVotes.gov or calling the elections office at 850-606-VOTE (8683).

Voters must present a current physical address and a valid photo ID when voting in person. The ID must come from the following list: Florida driver’s license, Florida identification card, U.S. passport, debit or credit card, military ID, student ID, retirement center ID, neighborhood association ID, public assistance ID, U.S. veteran health ID, concealed weapon/firearm license, employee ID issued by local, state or federal government agency. Voters who don’t bring ID can still vote with a provisional ballot.

It’s too late to mail in your ballot. Here’s what to do

Ballots must be received by your local elections office no later than 7 p.m. on election day — Aug. 18 — so it’s too late to drop it in the mail.

You’ll need to return your vote-by-mail ballot at a secure drop box at your county’s Supervisors of Elections’ main or branch office.

You have until 7 p.m. Aug. 18 to return your ballot for your vote to be counted.

When is the 2026 Florida general election, and what are the key deadlines?

The Florida general election day will be Nov. 3, 2026, two days after we turn clocks back an hour for the end of daylight saving time on Nov. 1.

Here are key deadlines to be aware of:

Deadline to send vote-by-mail ballots to UOCAVA voters: Sept. 19, 2026

Deadline to send vote-by-mail ballots to domestic voters:  Sept. 24 – Oct. 1, 2026

Deadline to register to vote:  Oct. 5, 2026

Deadline to request that ballot be mailed: Oct. 22, 2026

Early voting period (mandatory period):  Oct. 24-31, 2026

Counties can expand the early-voting period

Election Day:  Nov. 3, 2026
