Aila Miyabi joined the 29News team in January 2026. She is a proud alumna of Florida State University, where she graduated early with a B.A. in Mass Media and a minor in Spanish.
During her time there, she wrote for outlets including USA Today, the Tallahassee Democrat, and the FSView & Florida Flambeau. She has also worked with the DC Department of General Services, Florida State University, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, and Strike Magazine.
Aila is originally from just outside Washington, D.C., but has also lived in Spain and spends most of her summers in Tokyo. Outside of news, her passions include nature photography, journaling, volunteering, and food (mostly the eating part).
