August 19, 2026 – The Neon Lunchbox restaurant and bar, located at 1756 Central Avenue in St. Petersburg, will permanently close Aug. 29. It initially opened in 2024. The owner wrote in a statement posted on the establishment’s Facebook page that “we faced an increasingly difficult reality – rising costs, ongoing building maintenance issues, personal health challenges and an economy that has made it harder and harder to sustain and grow. We know we are not alone in this.”
