Jacksonville Jaguars to play in Orlando in 2027, pending NFL owners’ approval

  • November 7, 2025

ORLANDO, Fla. – Pending approval from NFL team owners, the Jacksonville Jaguars will play their home games in Orlando in 2027, city officials told News 6.

Orlando City Commissioner Shan Rose on Friday told News 6 community correspondent Mike Valente about the decision for the Jags to play at Camping World Stadium.

“We just got the word that the Jaguars have decided to move forward with coming to Orlando, so next is the vote of the NFL (team owners),” Rose said. “We’re hoping we get the NFL, the Jaguars, here in 2027.”

Rose said she’s been advocating for the move.

“What separates us from Gainesville, because that was our competitor, is that we’re family-friendly,” she said. “The players can come with their family — it’s more (about coming) to Orlando than just the game.”

Rose said Orlando-area businesses should benefit from NFL games being played nearby.

The move for the Jaguars is necessary because of a $2 billion renovation of EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville.

Meanwhile, Camping World Stadium is expected to be finished with a $400 million facelift before the Jags come to town.

The NFL has played several Pro Bowl games in Orlando over the years.
