JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced on Thursday that his office has issued an investigative subpoena to a Jacksonville-based home consulting firm over alleged “deceptive practices.”
Uthmeier says his investigation into KIS Consulting, LLC will analyze the company’s marketing of property inspection services, referrals of Florida consumers to attorneys and engineers for construction and design defect claims, door-to-door solicitation practices, and fees charged for those referrals.

“Florida homeowners deserve transparent and fair treatment when addressing potential defects in their homes—not practices that drive up the cost of homeownership,” Uthmeier said. “My office is investigating these inspection and referral operations to ensure they truly serve the interests of the families they claim to help.”
As part of the subpoena, KIS Consulting, LLC will be required to produce the following information to Uthmeier’s office:
