ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Police in St. Petersburg say a bomb threat at Northeast High School has caused students to be evacuated from the school.
A St. Petersburg Police Department spokesperson said in a statement that there is a heavy police presence.
Police say 54th Avenue North has been closed in both directions from I-275 to 17th Street as officers respond to the threat. Drivers are urged to find alternate routes.
The statement said that students will be allowed to return to class once investigators determine the school is safe.
No other information on the threat was immediately released.
