Baker Mayfield is the starting quarterback, but the backup role has yet to be decided. Jalon Daniels and Jake Browning are fighting for the backup role, and it could very well be decided after the game against the Chiefs. Browning has the experience, but Daniels has been extremely impressive in his first training camp.
Vitavia signed a $30 million extension with the Bucs to keep him on the roster for another year. This comes after he requested a trade earlier in training camp. Vea coming back keeps the defensive line stout for the upcoming season, so Bucs Nation should be celebrating hard after this.
The Chiefs are expected to have first-round pick Mansoor Delane play against the Bucs in the preseason. Delane was the top cornerback taken in the 2026 NFL Draft out of LSU.
