Your weekend is almost here, Tampa Bay! Here’s a look at the news and some events to help you plan your weekend.

Saturday will be partly sunny with highs in the low to mid 80s.  There might be just enough moisture to pop up a couple isolated showers.

Saturday night will be partly cloudy with lows in the 60s.

Sunday will be mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of a shower.  Highs will be in the low to mid 80s. 

A strong cold front will move through early Monday morning result in much colder temperatures early next week.

Beach and boating

Warm temperatures will allow for pleasurable beach conditions. As of right now, Saturday looks like the better day at the beach, while Sunday will have more clouds and a possible shower.

Boating will be fine this weekend. Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 10 knots Saturday and from the west at 10 knots on Sunday.

PINELLAS

Joe’s Creek Cleanup | 8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Part of the Intercoastal Cleanup Campaign, the event involves removal of trash and debris in and along Cross Bayou Canal and Joe’s Creek. Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing, closed-toe shoes, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen and bring a chair or towel to sit on. Trash grabbers, bags, gloves and drinking water will be provided.

12th Annual Run for All Children | 7:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. | $35 – $45: This race benefits the patients and families at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. The starting line for this 5K and 1-mile run will be in front of the main hospital, with a course along the downtown St Petersburg waterfront and ends back at Johns Hopkins All Children’s, where there will be a post-race Finish Line Fest.

Heritage Village Artisan Festival | 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Artisan tents will be located throughout the park, featuring quilting, tatting, woodworking, knitting and crocheting, candle works, blacksmithing, glass works and more. Visitors can tour over 20 historic buildings, listen to music, see vintage cars and enjoy lunch from a variety of food trucks. Pets are welcome and must remain leashed.

Game Day for Good: Dance for Janie | 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.: This dance-a-thon and family event will benefit Janie’s Fund, the nonprofit founded by Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler to support abused and neglected girls. The day will feature dancing, family-friendly activities, local vendors, and opportunities for community members to sponsor or participate.

Evil Dead the Musical | 3 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. | $30 – $50: Five college students go to an abandoned cabin in the woods, and accidentally unleash an evil force that turns them all into demons. It’s all up to Ash and his trusty chainsaw to save the day.

Tampa Bay Veg Fest 2025 | 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.: This annual event welcomes the community and beyond to celebrate all things healthy, compassionate, and environmentally sustainable. Join nationally renowned speakers, 100+ veg-friendly vendors/exhibitors, animal rescue groups, vegan food, raw/cooking demonstrations, humane education, and enjoy live music and entertainment.

Symphony in Lights Kickoff | 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.: Enjoy 300,000 twinkling lights with Christmas trees and garlands from Paseo Drive to Piazza Avenue choreographed to seasonal music and snowfall.
