A high school in Florida, St. Petersburg issued evacuation orders after receiving an alarming bomb threat. Subsequently, the cops were called and heavy police presence caused traffic in the area. As per the latest available update, the St. Petersburg Police Department (SPPD) found no explosive device & allowed staff and students to retrun to the school campus,

Bomb Threat Prompts Evacuation at St. Petersburg’s Northeast High School 

Northeast High School in St. Petersburg, Florida, was evacuated Friday morning after police received a bomb threat. Local police then reached the school and started investigating. The cops then evacuated the school as a precaution. 

A heavy police presence was reported around the campus as authorities started to secure the school’s perimeter.  At around 9:15 AM local time, police cleared the area and allowed students as well as staff to return to the school.

As part of the response, the 54th Avenue North in St. Petersburg was shut down, creating traffic disruptions around the school.  54th Avenue North was closed in both directions between I-275 and 17th Street North. 

As a result, travellers using the route were told to expect delays and use alternate routes. Since then, the roadway has opened from both directions.
