Police say they have detained a man following a Saturday morning shooting in Fort Lauderdale that sent a victim to the hospital with “life-threatening injuries.”

Around 8:05 a.m., Fort Lauderdale police raced to reports of the shooting in the 2300 block of Northwest Ninth Court. There, officers found an unidentified man shot, police said.

He was given first aid and then taken to Broward Health Medical Center by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue.
