A supersized semi-truck ride element has been installed beside the track for the opening scene of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift at Universal Orlando Resort.

New photos from aerial photographer bioreconstruct show the unexpected new ride element amidst the in-progress Hollywood Drift construction. The burgundy Peterbilt-style truck cab is positioned on a grated platform beside one of the earliest sections of coaster track.
Peterbilt, an American truck manufacturer, is visually distinct thanks to its long front hood, chrome grille, tall chrome exhaust stacks, and other striking angular elements.

The vehicle sits adjacent to the steel framework of the first scene of the attraction, which is still taking shape outside the coaster’s station. Corrugated steel walls have begun to enclose portions of the scene, while much of the surrounding structural framework remains exposed.

Coaster trains will leave the station facing a recently installed corrugated steel wall. The trains will then turn right, come to a stop, and reverse direction into the attraction’s first launch, passing the Peterbilt-style truck cab along the way. Its placement suggests the truck will serve as an immediate vehicular near-miss as the coaster’s drifting vehicles accelerate backward.

The developing scene was previously visible as an open steel structure in aerial photos of the coaster’s completed track layout. The addition of the truck marks one of the first large themed set pieces spotted within the attraction layout.
Peterbilt trucks have appeared elsewhere in the Fast & Furious franchise, most notably during the climactic truck-hijacking sequence in the original 2001 film.
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is scheduled to open at Universal Studios Florida in 2027, replacing Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. The resort’s previous franchise attraction, Fast & Furious – Supercharged, permanently closed on August 16, 2026.
