PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — An active crime scene is under investigation at a Port St. Lucie neighborhood on Friday afternoon.

The Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) is currently responding to an active crime scene near 1000 SW Coleman Avenue. Officers arrived on the scene shortly after 2 p.m. following reports of an incident in progress.

Authorities have confirmed that no individuals involved in the situation were injured. However, there is a significant police presence in the area, and residents are urged to avoid the vicinity and seek alternate routes.

The nature of the incident has not yet been disclosed, and police are continuing their investigation. As a precaution, PSLPD said a media staging area has been established at the intersection of SW Coleman Avenue and SW Susset Lane.

Drivers and residents in the area are advised to remain alert and follow any instructions from law enforcement officials.
