The drowning happened in the area of Max Leggett Parkway and Hyatt Road, according to a spokesperson with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office confirmed officers are currently investigating a child drowning on the city’s Northside.

According to a JSO spokesperson, the drowning happened around 7:30 on Aug. 24, in the area of Max Leggett Parkway & Hyatt Road.

 Officers found the child unresponsive in a nearby retention pond, and JSO says foul play is not suspected at this time.
