Located in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, Chase Stadium currently serves as the home of Major League Soccer’s Inter Miami CF. With a modern design and welcoming atmosphere, Chase Stadium has become one of Florida’s top destinations for sports and entertainment.
Chase Stadium History
Development on Chase Stadium marked the beginning of a new chapter for sports in this part of Florida. The venue was constructed on the site of the former Lockhart Stadium, a longtime landmark that had hosted decades of soccer and football events before its demolition in 2019. Chase Stadium serves as an interim home for Inter Miami CF while construction continues on Miami Freedom Park, which is set to open in 2026 as the club’s permanent stadium. Inter Miami CF’s 2018 expansion bid was approved with the understanding that a dedicated venue would eventually be established in Miami.
Since opening, Chase Stadium has hosted a number of international competitions, MLS matchups, and a steady lineup of concerts and special events, making it a central hub for live entertainment in South Florida.
Following Lionel Messi’s 2023 announcement that he would join Inter Miami CF, Chase Stadium added 3,000 new seats to meet demand. A second expansion in early 2024 increased total capacity to 21,550, introducing additional seating, boxes, and refreshed press facilities.
